Scorecerer Press Release - July 2011
Manage Sheet Music Portfolios Seamlessly with Scorecerer Desktop and iPad Apps
Musicians Now Have Total Flexibility, Convenience and Control Onstage, On the Road and In the Studio With Unique Handwritten Annotation Feature
Millwood, New York - July 1, 2011 – Now, managing, editing and using digital sheet music portfolios on the road or stage is as easy as a tap on the screen of an Apple iPad.
Scorecerer, a desktop app from Deskew Technologies, enables users to scan their sheet music library quickly and easily into their computer and manage it with ease. An update this month to the free companion Scorecerer iPad app lets users for the first time make handwritten notations and highlights right on the screen to enhance their understanding and clarify difficult passages on the fly.
Once sync'd with the Desktop app, sheet music appearing on the iPad can be flipped back and forth by simply tapping on the screen or by using a Bluetooth pedal.
A quick, two-finger swipe down the iPad screen is all it takes to access a custom playlist. Tap on any song in the playlist, and the chosen song instantly appears on the screen. A two-finger tap zooms in and makes it possible to immediately start writing with one finger, while another two-finger tap returns the screen to normal view.
"It's far more advantageous to convert existing sheet music into digital form instead of buying new songs online. This is largely because sheet music is notoriously inaccurate, and musicians are fond of scribbling notes to enhance their understanding of the piece," said David Jameson, Deskew Technologies co-founder. "Our Scorecerer Desktop and iPad apps offer the best way for musicians to manage their sheet music—to interact with it, write on it, and perform with it in a purposeful and convenient manner."
